PRODUCTION PROCESS OF GRANITE BLOCKS AND FINISHED PRODUCTS
Granite production is a multi-step process that involves extracting and processing the stone to create high-quality products.
o The first step in the process is identifying the granite formation on the site. This is done by a geologist who examines the area and assesses the quality and quantity of the granite available.
o Once the formation is identified, the type of method for extraction is decided. This can include open-pit mining, underground mining, or quarrying using diamond wire saws.
o Blocks of granite are cut using the wire saw method, which allows for precise and efficient cutting. They are cut in either rectangle or square shape, depending on the desired end product.
o Before the blocks are brought to the dressing area, they are thoroughly checked for any cracks, patches, or other defects that may affect the quality of the final product.
o The blocks are then shifted to the dressing area, where they are given a proper dressing to ensure they meet the desired specifications.
o A second quality check is conducted, and the blocks are separated for different clients, such as monument and commercial blocks.
o Every block is measured and numbered to ensure proper tracking and inventory management.
o The blocks are then transported to the factory for further processing.
o At the factory, the blocks are cut to the customers' specific requirements, including thickness and length.
o The cut slabs then go through the polishing process, which can include regular polish, hound polish, or lapatra polish, depending on the customer's preference.
o There is further quality assessment of the finished slabs, and any rejected slabs are segregated and destroyed.
o The finished slabs are numbered in batches for easy identification and tracking.
o The finished slabs are then loaded and sent to the desired customer, ensuring they receive the high-quality granite products they ordered.
Overall, granite production requires a combination of expertise, skill, and advanced technology to extract and process the stone into finished products. The whole process is monitored and controlled by quality assurance teams to ensure the granite blocks and slabs are of highest quality to meet the needs of customers.
KERBS AND CUBES PRODUCTION PROCESS
o The granite waste from the quarry is collected and transported to the processing plant.
o The waste is sorted and separated according to size and quality.
o The smaller pieces are then shaped into the desired kerb and cube sizes
o The surfaces of the kerbs and cubes are then smoothed using a combination of machines such as polishers, grinders, and sanders.
o The kerbs and cubes are then inspected for quality
o The kerbs and cubes are then cut to the desired size and thickness.
o The kerbs and cubes are then inspected again for quality and any defects are removed.
o The kerbs and cubes are then packaged for transportation to the customer.
o The remaining granite waste is repurposed for other construction uses or recycled.
